O lado "sentido" de antropologia

Tenho de admitir que gosto da ideia dum antropólogo que assume a sua reacção pessoal à experiência de "trabalho no campo." Neste sentido Paul Stoller parece um convidado que vale a pena. Vou tentar ler umas obras dele antes do dia 5 de junho. Na conferência, ele vai falar sobre

West African rituals of sorcery, which are designed to bring harmony and peace to a chaotic world, gave me much needed strength. They not only enabled me to bear unbearable conditions, but also deepened my appreciation of the power and efficacy of ritual--something that must be lived to be more fully understood.
